When you drop off a package always ask for a "drop off receipt".
This gives you proof of shipper and the package will be scaned and entered into their tracking system.
Once you have that drop off receipt in hand you have proof of shipping. A good agent will email the tracking information to whoever hired you.

If not scanned when dropped off it can take a long time for the tracking number to be in the system.
